
2026 SummerFest Cup
Get Out And Play (GOAP) presents the 5th annual SummerFest Cup on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Confederation Artificial Turf Field in North Vancouver.
This soccer tournament is a fundraiser for GOAP. GOAP is a registered, non-profit organization that hosts an annual activity and sports day for the North Shore community. GOAP’s mission is to increase accessibility to physical activity for all, while promoting connection, community building and fun!

Please note this soccer tournament is on the day BEFORE the 2026 World Cup Final. It will take place on Saturday, July 18, 2026 (the day of the 3rd place match)
SummerFest Cup Details:
- Men’s Soccer tournament
- Saturday, July 18, 2026 from 10am-6pm at Confederation Artificial Turf Field in North Vancouver (2145 Jones Avenue, North Vancouver)
- 8 teams, 1 referee per game
- 7 vs 7 with a maximum of 8 subs/team (total 15 people/team). Games are played along the width of the field.
- Two, 20 minute halves with a 1 minute break at half-time. Each team will play a minimum of 4 games
- Level of play: intermediate
- Age of players: typically 25-39 years old
- World cup style: group stages then elimination rounds
- Registration: EARLY BIRD before June 20: $320/team. After June 20: $400/team.
- Prizes:
- Trophies for the winning team, MVP and best goalie.
- Medals for the winning team and runner-ups
- Enjoy a food truck, physiotherapy and more!!

GAME RULES:
- ***No metal soccer cleats allowed***
- Captains will rock-paper-scissors to determine who will start with the ball. The game will start with a kick-off at the centre spot.
- Teams will pick which end they start based on rock-paper-scissors.
- A kick-off will also restart the game after a goal is scored.
- A goal cannot be scored directly from a kick-off.
- The opposing team must be at least 6 yards away from the ball in any direction on a kick-off, until the ball has been put into play.
- Balls are out of play when the entire ball has crossed the side-line – this will result in a kick-in. A goal cannot be scored directly from a kick-in.
- Balls are out of play when the entire ball has crossed the end line – this will result in a corner kick or a goal kick depending on which player last touches the ball. Opposing players must stand at least 6 yards away until the kick is taken.
- Goalies cannot touch the ball with their hands if it from a direct back pass from one of their own players. Goalkeeper can use their hands inside the goal area when the opposing team kicks the ball towards the goalie or if their own teammate heads the ball back to them. If a goalie uses his/her hands to play the ball in when it was thrown/passed by his/her own team then the opposing team is awarded an indirect free kick at the spot of the handling.
- NO sliding or slide tackling.
- NO offsides. However, if there is a player that is in a significant offside position, the referee has the right to call offside.
- Handballs – Hand to Ball not Ball to Hand (please only call for deliberate hand balls, i.e. a movement towards the ball)
- Rolling substitutions can be made during game play, however the player coming in and out must enter / leave the field at the same spot. Goalkeepers can only be substituted for at a stoppage in play.
- Fouls result in a direct free kick to the opposing team from where violation happened, unless the foul is in the penalty box in which case a penalty is awarded.
- Defending players must be at least 6 yards away from the spot of an free kick, except when the ball is being kicked from a point closer than 6 yards from the goal line – in which case the defending players may stand on their goal line.
- Penalty kicks occur when a defender (or goalkeeper) commits/is called for a foul of any type while inside their penalty area.
- All players, except the goalkeeper and the player taking the kick, must remain outside of the goalie box until the ball is kicked
- Goalkeeper must stand on their own goal-line between the goal posts without moving forward until the ball is kicked
- Penalty kick must go forward, and the kicker cannot touch the ball a second time until it has been touched by another player
- Penalty spot will be taken from eight yards from the goal
- Penalty shoot out is 5 penalties each. If tie, then sudden death and only allowed to repeat penalty takers after everyone has taken one penalty each.
- For a player to be eligible for the knockout round, he or she must have played in at least 2/3 group games for at least 10 minutes. Each player can only play on one team.
- Each game is 40mins in length (two, 20 minute haves with a 1 minute break at half-time) and it will start when the referee whistles.
- Violence, aggressive behavior and foul language will not be tolerated and will result in elimination of the entire team from the tournament. Please remember, this tournament is a fundraiser for a non-profit organization.
- Each team is allowed up to 15 players on their team.
- Yellow Cards:
- A yellow card is a disciplinary measure used by the referee. It signals that a player has been cautioned (booked) for an offence.
- Group Stages: Any player or official given a yellow card in two different games will miss their team’s subsequent match.
- Knockout Round: Yellow cards will be wiped after the quarter-finals. If, during the quarter-finals, a player or official is booked for the second match at the tournament, he will be suspended for the semi-final.
- Examples: unsporting behavior, reckless play, dissent (publicly disagree with an official), time-wasting, and more.
- Red Cards:
- Any player or official given a red card will miss their team’s subsequent match.
- Red cards will not be wiped at any point during the tournament. If a player is sent off during the semi-finals, he will be suspended for the final.
- Examples: unsporting behavior, violence, spitting, refusal to leave and accumulated yellow cards.
NOTES:
- Each team is responsible for bringing:
- Two different colored jerseys, pinnies or shirts. Shin guards are optional.
- Soccer cleats (no metal cleats allowed). No running shoes allowed.
- 1-2 soccer balls for your team to practice.
- A canopy tent that they can place on the field for their team. This will help protect your team from the sun. There is minimal shade on site.

- There will be a photographer, physiotherapy tent and food truck on site
- No food allowed on the field. Please enjoy your food outside the field. Water is allowed on the field. Please enjoy other beverages outside the field.
- No alcohol, smoking, cannabis or any substances allowed on the field or during play.
- Prizes:
- Trophies for the winning team, MVP and best goalie.
- Medals for the winning team and runner-ups
- There is a washroom/water tap on site along with free parking.
- Grocery stores and food are located within a 2 minute drive from the field.
- Please remember to bring plenty of water and snacks. No food or drinks permitted on the field. Please enjoy them outside the field.
